Printing the Guides

If you love the Lake District or are just planning your first trip, then there is plenty for you here. You will find printable walking guides which you are free to download. You can also buy waterproof versions, but whichever you choose you will find that they fold into a neat and easy to carry size to accompany your essential maps.

The list of available walks will continue to grow, and existing ones will be updated as and when necessary. If you find that one is out of date because of a change of footpath for example, please email me the details to be updated.

The walks vary from easy enough for most people to be able to complete, to others where you will need a reasonable level of fitness. They also advise either a full day or half a day walk, as the time taken for any walk can be very different from one person to the next. None of these walks were done in a rush, they were all done to enjoy the area, So where some writer’s suggest you can do a walk in 5 hours, it is usually a fairly accurate guide, but I have always adopted the idea that each walk takes as long as it takes. However, you should still try to get an idea of how long you will need to complete the longer, higher walks to avoid ending up stumbling over loose rock in the dark.

If you don't want to walk, then there is plenty of information in these pages to give you ideas of things to do, see, eat and drink. None of the establishments mentioned pay for advertising, these are merely suggestions and comments made from personal experience.

So, please take a look around this site and hopefully you will find something of interest. The walks have all been done personally, they are not copied or reworded from anywhere else. The photos are all mine or were taken by my friends who walked with me.
